Presently the JNVs are spread in 28 States and 07 Union Territories.

These are co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. Admissions in JNVs are made through the JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SELECTION TEST (JNVST) to Class VI.  According to the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme, one Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is to be set up in each District in a phased manner. At present, 661 Vidyalayas are sanctioned in 28 States and 07 Union Territories, out of which 636 are functioning.

Eligibility Criteria 

A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class-V for the whole of the academic session 2019-20 in a Government/Government aided or other recognized schools or „B‟ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where he/she is seeking admission. A school will be deemed recognized if it is declared so by the Government or by any other agency authorized on behalf of Government. Schools where students have obtained „B‟ certificate under National Institute of Open Schooling should have accreditation of NIOS. A candidate must successfully complete Class-V in the session 2019-20. Actual admission in Class-VI for the session 2020-21 will be subject to the mentioned condition.

Age Limit Criteria 

A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before 01-05-2007 and after 30-04-2011 (Both days are inclusive). This will apply to candidates of all categories, including those who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST). In case of doubtful cases of overage in comparison to the age recorded in the certificate, they may be referred to the Medical Board for confirmation of the age. The decision of the medical board will be treated as final.

NOTE :

  •  A Candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before 15th September, 2020 is not eligible to apply.

Application fee

  • There is no Application fee to apply for JNVST 2021.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2020 

JNV Selection Test for admission to Class-VI in JNVs for the academic session 2021-22 will be held in two phases as given below:

  1. Saturday, January, 2021 at 11.30 A.M.in the State of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley & Tawang Districts), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla Districts), Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Pudducherry.
  2. Saturday, the April, 2021 at 11.30 A.M.in the States of Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Uttrakhand and in the Districts of Dibang Valley and Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal.

How to Apply Online for JNV Selection Test 2021 

  1. The process for submission of application for JNV Selection Test has been simplified through online process. Registration can be done free of cost through the admission portal of NVS linked through www.navodaya.gov.in Verification of proofs for residence, age, eligibility etc will be done for selected candidates through the laid down procedure after the declaration of results.
  2. The eligible candidates have to fill up the online form and upload the certificate issued by the Head Master/Principal where the candidate is studying in class V with the photograph along with signatures of both candidate and his /her parent/guardian. The attachments should be uploaded in jpg format of the size between 10-100 kb only.

JNVST Admit card 2020

JNVST Answer Key 2020

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test after successful conduct of exam released answer key online so that students and parents can check answer/question and if they are any objection in the answer stated by the NVS authority then they can raise an objection in the opened window after which there will be a reconsideration by exam authority. If there is any correction to be made in answer or question are wrong then it is being told through public notice and new solution paper is released.

JNVST cut off marks 2020

JNVST after the final release of answer key released the cut-off mark category wise list for the appeared candidates. It is the minimum marks student have to get in order to get eligible for the next round of admission. Also along with it, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya released the criteria for the waiting list.

JNVST Merit list 2020

Merit list is the list of student who has cleared the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test and is eligible to get admission in the selected respective Navodaya School. So if candidate sees their name in the JNVST merit list then they should proceed to the next round of securing their seat by reporting to the Jawahar Navodaya school and paying the fee for the academic session.

JNVST Result 2020: Selection list & Waiting list

After the student had given the exam, the most anticipated thing is result/scorecard. Each year lakhs of student sit for JNVST exam and wait for JNVST result. NVS release result region wise PDF format in which candidate have to search for the roll number and name. JNVST region wise result will be uploaded in the official website and regional sites of NVS. Also along with scorecard, NVS released waiting list, this list contain the name of the student who will be called for NVS admission if there is a vacant seat before the academic session starts. On the other hand, in case there is the withdrawal of name by the previously selected student.
